Common issues

Deck A and Deck B Are Stuck

To fix this, click on “Config” in the toolbar and select “Audio Mixer Pipeline.” Then follow these steps:

  1. Click the “Air Out” button, and an “Audio Settings” window will pop up.
  2. Under “Air output settings,” select the proper “Output driver” from the drop-down menu. This is usually the “DirectSound” output.
  3. Even if this option is already selected as a default setting, select it manually from the drop-down menu.
  4. Also under “Air output settings,” select the proper “Output device” from the drop-down menu.
  5. Even if this option is already selected as a default setting, select it manually from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click the “Apply now” button followed by “OK.”

Tip: When using a USB device, always plug it into the same USB port before booting up your system. This will allow your device driver details to remain consistent. You
can also unlock them from the voice fx. Go to config record sound card device and rechoose your mic. Click ok. Then click the eq button, go to output under output device rechoose your speakers.

Mic not working

There can be a number of reasons your mic is not working. The following steps are what our staff would take to try to fix the issue.

  1. Make sure your headset does not have an inline mute button. If it does, make sure it is off.
  2. Test your mic by talking into it in your sound setting and see if the meter moves.
    • If it moves, open Sams and test by clicking the lock talk and seeing if the meter in Sam Broadcaster moves. If it does then you are good to go.
    • If it does not move, turn off the mic and press the config button in the fx box.
    • Look in the Record soundcard device box next to the big Mixer button and see if your mic is chosen. If it is not, click the down arrow and find your headset then click ok and test.
    • If your mic is chosen move to the next step.
  3. Your mic volume may be turned down on your sound card.
  4. Navigate back to Sound settings. Look for a tab that might say something like “More sound settings”. It should open a box that looks like this.

5. If using usb mic, there maybe 2 places to check for volume.

6. First choose the playback tab, then right mouse click on the speaker you are using and choose properties

  • Another box opens and then choose levels.
  • Sometimes a mic volume level slider shows there. If so, make sure it is turned up to 100

7. When done, click apply and ok and then you are back to the original box.

8. Next, choose the sounds tab, then right-mouse click on the mic you are using, and choose properties.

  • Another box opens and then choose levels.
  • You will see the sound level of your mic. Make sure it is set at 100. If there is a booster slider make sure to turn it up as well.

9. Tip, sometimes other apps can take control of your mic. In the same box, choose the Advanced tab. Uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

10. When done, click apply and ok and then you are back to the original box.

11. Close out the box and then test the mic again. If it still does not work, shut down the computer and unplug the mic and replug it back in. Restart computer. If the mic still does not work, your mic might be bad. Contact a member of staff to confirm from the Contact us page.

The audience can not hear music but can hear me even though the mic is off.

  1. Locate your encoder box.
  2. At the top toolbar of the encoder box are 2 buttons. Sam broadcaster version 4.2 has a red button and a blue button. Make sure the blue button is pressed.
  3. Sam broadcaster version 4.9 and higher, in the same area, is a DSP button and a red button. Make sure the DSP button is pressed.
